Don’t be SAD – let your Serotonin shine
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is key to our health and happiness. It is a natural mood balancer which enables you to feel calm, focused and emotionally stable. A lack of serotonin has been consistently linked to depression, which may ring a bell for some of you in terms of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). SAD is a form of cyclical depression typically triggered by the dark and cold winter. It may not be possible every day, but your interaction with sunlight is a key stimulator for the release of a hormone that will put a smile on your face. So why not take the occasional coffee or phone call outside in the energising and nourishing sunlight?
